For more than a century, Illinois REALTORS® has been at the forefront of advancing professional standards in real estate. The Illinois School of Real Estate continues that tradition today, providing education that helps individuals launch and grow rewarding careers.
Our story begins in the early 1900s, when Illinois REALTORS® first championed training and licensing standards. Since then, we’ve been part of every major milestone in Illinois real estate education:
- Establishing the state’s first Broker’s License Act in 1925.
- Launching the Graduate REALTORS® Institute (GRI) in the 1960s.
- Leading the way on continuing education requirements in the 1990s.
- Expanding access through home study, online classes, and live webinars in the 2000s.
- Today, the Illinois School of Real Estate offers state-approved pre-license, broker, managing broker, and leasing agent courses, as well as continuing education for experienced REALTORS®. With flexible online options and expert instructors, we prepare students to succeed in a competitive, ever-changing industry.
